Try this option:

1. the rule: common view of the equation of the quadratic function is 'y=ax²+bx+c', where a, b and c - numbers.

2. if to substitute the given coordinates into  common equation, it is possible to write 3 equations: (for (0;0)) c=0; (for (2;5)) 4a+2b+c=5; (for (5;7)) 25a+5b+c=7.

3. for the system of the linear equations:

\left \{ \begin{array}{ccc}c=0\\4a+2b+c=5\\25a+5b+c=7\end{array}\right => \ \left \{ \begin{array}{ccc}c=0\\b=97/30\\a=-11/30\end{array}\right

4. Answer:

y= -\frac{11x^2}{30} +\frac{97x}{30}

Find the distance between the two points rounding to the nearest tenth (if necessary).
Genrish500 [490]

Answer:

13 units

Step-by-step explanation:

(-1,5) and (4, -7)

To find the distance of two points, we use the distance formula:

d = \sqrt{(x_{2}-x_1)^2 + (y_2-y_1)^2 }

Let's plug in what we know.

d = \sqrt{(4 - (-1))^2 + (-7 - 5)^2 }

Evaluate the double negative.

d = \sqrt{(4 +1))^2 + (-7 - 5)^2 }

Evaluate the parentheses.

d = \sqrt{(5)^2 + (-12)^2 }

Evaluate the exponents.

d = \sqrt{(25) + (144) }

Add.

d = \sqrt{(169) }

Evaluate the square root.

d = 13

Hope this helps!

What is the justification for each step in the solution of the equation?<br><br> 5x−42=2x−1
yanalaym [24]

Answer:

<h3>39.6</h3>

Step-by-step explanation:

collecting like terms we have:

5x-2x=-1+42

equating the terms..we have:

3x=41

divide both sides by the Co-efficient of x:

3x\3=42\3

x=39.6

Solve the system of linear equations using the Gauss-Jordan elimination method.
mixas84 [53]

Answer:

x = -0.6

y = 2.2

z = 2

Step-by-step explanation:

2x + y - 2z = -3

x + 3y - z = 4

3x + 4y - z = 5

Rewrite the system in matrix form and solve it by Gaussian Elimination (Gauss-Jordan elimination)

2 1 -2 -3

1 3 -1 4

3 4 -1 5

R1 / 2 → R1 (divide the 1 row by 2)

1 0.5 -1 -1.5

1 3 -1 4

3 4 -1 5

R2 - 1 R1 → R2 (multiply 1 row by 1 and subtract it from 2 row); R3 - 3 R1 → R3 (multiply 1 row by 3 and subtract it from 3 row)

1 0.5 -1 -1.5

0 2.5 0 5.5

0 2.5 2 9.5

R2 / 2.5 → R2 (divide the 2 row by 2.5)

1 0.5 -1 -1.5

0 1 0 2.2

0 2.5 2 9.5

R1 - 0.5 R2 → R1 (multiply 2 row by 0.5 and subtract it from 1 row); R3 - 2.5 R2 → R3 (multiply 2 row by 2.5 and subtract it from 3 row)

1 0 -1 -2.6

0 1 0 2.2

0 0 2 4

R3 / 2 → R3 (divide the 3 row by 2)

1 0 -1 -2.6

0 1 0 2.2

0 0 1 2

R1 + 1 R3 → R1 (multiply 3 row by 1 and add it to 1 row)

1 0 0 -0.6

0 1 0 2.2

0 0 1 2

x = -0.6

y = 2.2

z = 2
