Answer:

B. Policies of religious freedom attracted a diverse range of settlers.

Explanation:

  • The Province of Pennsylvania, also known as the Pennsylvanian Colony, was founded in British America in the Thirteen Colonies by William Penn on March 4, 1681 as dictated by a royal cedula of Charles II of England. The name of Pennsylvania that roughly translates as the forests of Penn, was created by combining the surname Penn (in honor of William's father, Admiral Sir William Penn) with the Latin word "sylvania", which means "forest lands" . The letter from the owner colony remained in the hands of the Penn family until the War of Independence of the United States, when the state of Pennsylvania was created and became one of the thirteen original states.
  • The maritime rivalry between Dutch and English came to an end with the victory of the latter in North America. The King of England Charles II donated to his brother, the Duke of York, a vast territory that included the Dutch colony. In 1664, New Amsterdam surrendered to the English without offering resistance. This was immediately renamed "New York" in honor of the Duke of York. The city developed rapidly: in 1700, it had about 5,000 inhabitants. The trade diversified; flour became one of the main export products. It is for this reason that, until now, New York's weapons show, among other images, a flour barrel. At the end of the Second Anglo-Dutch War in 1667, with the signing of the Treaty of Breda, it was definitively agreed that the sovereignty of the colony belonged to the English, while the Dutch received in return Suriname. The economic boom began around 1730. English Puritans fleeing religious persecutions in their countries of origin settled in New York, where they engaged in triangular trade by selling African slaves to the Antilles and the British colonies of Virginia, Maryland and the two Carolinas.

How did the lives of knights and nobles demonstrate the importance of warfare in the middle ages
Mamont248 [21]

In the middle ages Knights were those celebrated and selected warriors whose sole purpose in life was to fight in battles for their lords or train others to fight in that way. Lords were those who gave these knights lands in return for their military services while knights protected and fought for them, there were different rules in different places, for example in some areas some knights had more than one lords while in others a lord may hold many knight. It was always a struggle between lords to keep and draw those knights who were braver and better than others.
