This is a system of equations.
1.) Isolate a variable in the equation of your choosing
Ex. x = y +10
2.) Plug in the new equation to the first original one
Ex. 2(y + 10) - y = 17
3.) Solve for the variable in the equation
Step one for this: Distribute
Ex. 2y +20 - y = 17
Step two for this: Combine like terms
Ex. y +20 = 17
Step three for this: Isolate the variable
Ex. y = -3
4.) Plug in your answer for one variable into one of the original equations
Ex. X - (-3) =10
5.) Solve for x
x + 3 = 10
x = 7
The answer is: x = 7, y = -3

You can isolate y on both sides, getting:
2x-17=y  and    x-10=y

Then, make the two y equal each other, and solve the equation
2x-17=x-10

The answer would be x=7.
then, plut in the amount into one of the equations:
x-y=10
7-y=10
y=-3
T

Therefore, the answer is x=7 and y = -3, or (7,-3)

A potter forms a 100 cm3 piece of clay into a cylinder. As she rolls it, the length L,of the cylinder increases and the radius,
Anni [7]

Answer:

- 0.2 cm/s

Step-by-step explanation:

Volume of a cylinder =  πr²l--------------------------------------------------------(1)

dV/dt =(dV /dr ) x (dr/dt) +  (dV /dl ) x (dl/dt) ---------------------------------(2)

dV/dr = 2 πrl

dV/dl  =  πr²

dr/dt   = Unknown

dl/dt   = 0.1 cm/s

dV/dt = 0

From equation (1), the length of the cylinder can be calculated when r = 5cm

V = πr²L

100 = π (5)²L

L =100/25π

  =4/π

To find the rate of radius change  (dr/dt) we substitute known values into equation (2):

0 = 2 π (5) (4/π) x  (dr/dt) + π(5)² x 0.1

0 =  40 (dr/dt)  + 2.5π

40 (dr/dt) = -2.5π

     dr/dt =   -2.5π/40

              =  -0.1963 cm/s

              ≈ - 0.2 cm/s

The negative sign shows that the radius of the cylinder of constant volume decrease at a rate twice the length.

KM and NP are parallel lines.<br><br> Which angles are alternate exterior angles?
suter [353]

Answer:

<MLJ and <NOQ

Step-by-step explanation:

Alternate exterior angles are angles that lie outside of the two parallel lines that are cut across by the transversal line, and are also alternating each other along the transversal

Considering the image and the options given, <MLJ and <NOQ are exterior angles that alternate each other. Therefore, they are alternate exterior angles.

What percent of 300 is 2 1/2?
SOVA2 [1]

The percent of 300 is 83.33%.

<h2>Percentage</h2>

The amount of something is expressed as if it is a part of the total which is a hundred. The ratio can be expressed as a fraction of 100. The word percent means per 100. It is represented by the symbol ‘%’.

Given

300 is 2+1/2 is an expression

<h3>To find </h3>

The percentage of a given function.

<h3>How to find the percentage of a given function?</h3>

Let x be the percent of 300.

300 is 2+1/2 is an expression that can be written as,

\begin{aligned} \rm \dfrac{300x}{100} &= 2 + \dfrac{1}{2} \\\\\rm \dfrac{300x}{100} &= 2 +0.5\\\\\rm \dfrac{300x}{100} &= 2.5\\\\300x  &= 250 \\\\x &= \dfrac{250}{300} \\\\x &= 0.8333\\\end{aligned}

The percent of 300 is 83.33%.
