This question is essentially asking to find the distance between these two points:

The formula for distance between two points is:

\sqrt{(x_{2} -x_{1})^{2} + (y_{2} -y_{1})^{2}}

In this case:

x_{2} =-4\\x_{1} =1\\y_{2} =-10\\y_{1} =2

^^^Plug these numbers into the formula for distance like so...

\sqrt{(-4-1)^{2} + (-10-2)^{2}}

To solve this you must use the rules of PEMDAS (Parentheses, Exponent, Multiplication, Division, Addition, Subtraction)

First we have parentheses. Remember that when solving you must go from left to right

\sqrt{(-4-1)^{2} + (-10-2)^{2}}

-4 - 1   = -5

\sqrt{(-5)^{2} + (-10-2)^{2}}

-10 - 2 = -12

\sqrt{(-5)^{2} + (-12)^{2}}

Next solve the exponent. Again, you must do this from left to right

\sqrt{(-5)^{2} + (-12)^{2}}

(-5)² = 25

\sqrt{25 + (-12)^{2}}

(-12)² = 144

\sqrt{(25 + 144)}

Now for the addition

\sqrt{(25+144)}

25 + 144 = 169

Now take the square root

\sqrt{169} = 13

This segment is 13 units long

Hope this helped!

Answer:

13

Step-by-step explanation:

\sqrt{|1-(-4)|^{2}+|2-(-10)|^{2}

=\sqrt{5^{2}+12^{2} }

=13

Find the perimeter of the regular hexagon 9ft 2 in
Debora [2.8K]

Answer:

55 ft

Step-by-step explanation:

Perimeter is the distance round a given shape. For an hexagon, since it has six equal sides, xomsidering that it is regular, its perimeter is given by

P=6a

Where P is the perimeter and a is the length of its sides.

Considering that a is given as 9ft 2 in then

P=6(9ft 2 in)=54 ft 12 in

Since 1 ft is equivalent to 12 inches then the perimeter is 54+1=55 ft

Which of the following statements demonstrates the identity property of multiplication?
alex41 [277]

Answer:

B i think

Step-by-step explanation:

The product of 1 and any number is the number (hence why it is most likely b). But instead of it being 4, it would be -4 because multiplying a negative by a positive results in a negative.

Jim pays $75 per month for a cell phone plan plus $0.30 per minuet beyond the first 1000 minuets. Write an equation for the cost
Veseljchak [2.6K]
Let x be the number of minutes Jim used
105.60 = 75+0.30(x−1000)
105.60=75+0.30x−300
105.60=0.30x−225
1056=3x−2250
1056+2250=3x
3306=3x
x=1102
