The period of the fight between Muslim and Christian over the Iberian Peninsula is called “Reconquista” in English it means “Reconquest”. It lasted around 750 years - 8th century to 15th century - and ended with the fall of the Muslim rule with the Fall of Granada in 1492 by the Catholic Monarchs Ferdinand and Isabella - also famous for the Spanish Inquisition.
