Writing conventions  can be defined as a set of generally accepted standards for writing in English. </em>It is the use of proper grammar, appropriate punctuation and correct spelling between other things, to make a piece of writing understandable for the audience. When writing the person should follow the standard conventions such as correct use of grammar, appropriate use of punctuation and spelling, use of verbs in their correct tense and and overall good organization of all the sentences and paragraphs, so that the final piece makes sense. But each different type of writing has a set of different conventions related to the literacy style they use. For example, narrative writing has its own conventions that are not the same as the conventions of descriptive writing.
