ROTC was Powell's life calling and the significance if had on his life was quite positive. He excelled into something which he always loved doing.

Colin Luther Powell is an American politician and a retired respected general who served the United States Army. It was during his college time when Powell was very much interested in Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC).

Powell, in his biography states that how joining the ROTC during his college time was one of the happiest moment in his life. He expreinced peace and satisfaction during his training period.

ROTC indeed plays an important role in Powell's life because it was something that he always loved doing and he was also good at it.

Powell says that during the course of ROTC he had 'found himself.' And he believed that if a person is good at something and that is also the thing he liked, then he is on the right track.
