Ding dong. Estelle ran out of the kitchen and went to answer the front door. A friend from school was coming over to spend Satur

day with her.
"Buenos días, Vanessa!" Estelle said as she opened the door.
"Hi, Estelle! Sorry I'm late."
"Don't worry about a thing," Estelle smiled. "We don't pay much attention to the clock on the weekends. Pura Vida!"
"I don't know a whole lot of Spanish, but doesn't that mean pure life?" Vanessa stared at her friend waiting for an explanation.
"Pura vida translates as pure life, but the expression means everything is great and that you should enjoy life."
"Okay! I'm glad you're not upset," she paused. "Something smells delicious. What is that?" Vanessa inquired. The fragrant aroma that greeted her on the porch had her full attention as they walked through the living room and headed to the kitchen.
"Oh, that's probably the gallo pinto."
"Gallo pinto?" Vanessa repeated. She'd never heard of that before.
"Yes. Gallo pinto is a black beans and rice dish that is often eaten by Ticos at each meal," Estelle explained. "Since my family is from Costa Rica, we try to keep some traditions that remind us of our country. Gallo pinto is the national dish of Costa Rica."
"Does your family eat gallo pinto with every meal?"
"No. We mainly eat it with breakfast, but it tastes really good. I wouldn't mind eating it three times a day," Estelle chimed.
"Est—elle. Quit running your mouth and sit down so we can eat. I'm starving," Estelle's little brother complained.
"Javier! Shh," said Estelle's mother. "It's nice to see you again, Vanessa. Pura Vida! Would you like to try some gallo pinto with your breakfast?"
"Yes, please!" Vanessa exclaimed.

What does the phrase "pura vida" teach the reader about the Costa Rican people?

A.
They try to avoid unnecessary stress.

B.

Hi there!

We know that " Pura Vida," means pure life: and as what Estelle has said, "Pura Vida translates as pure life, but the expression means everything is great and that you should enjoy life."

Now that she explained this! Its obvious that your answer would:

A. They try to avoid unnecessary stress.

Because the Estelle has basically told you that she doesn't mean Hygiene products, how frequent they clean their hands, or how rare on time for activities.

Hope this helps and have a fantastic day!

In the end, the pigs and the humans play a game of cards, where it becomes evident that one of the parties (or even both) is che
alexira [117]

Answer:

Cheating in the card game at the end of the novel presents the picture of corruption and evil in the political system. The pigs and the humans both were indulged in the same type of corruption and cheating in the card game. This exemplifies the strength of the political power. Whether it be a human or a pig, the nature of the politician changes with respect to that of the power. Mr. Pilkington and Napoleon entered a heated argument in which both of them tried to cheat in the similar way. This brings to the conclusion that both the pigs and the humans played the role of liars, manipulators and hypocrites when the question of politics and humanities were asked.
