Answer:

D. It was leased to the British until 1997, when it became part of China again.

Explanation:

Hong Kong or officially the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, is a special region of China that has existed since July 1997.

China ceded the island of Hong Kong to the United Kingdom in 1842 after the First Opium War. Subsequently, the English annexed the neighboring Kowloon peninsula and the many smaller islands around the colony, which in treaty were leased for 99 years, which could be renewed for an equal period. The colonial apparatus will make Hong Kong an impressive development for the next 150 years or so as an outpost of the British Far East empire, becoming a major business and commercial hub.

What is the impact of cobalt mining in the congo? write in as much detail as possible pls
alukav5142 [94]
In Congo’s sun-scorched and dusty south, thousands of miners scour underground tunnels hunting for cobalt. Many of them work by hand. That’s why they are known as creuseurs — French for diggers.
They don’t use power tools. They don’t wear face masks and often no gloves. They do it because they live in one of the poorest countries in the world, and cobalt is valuable. The mineral is essential for the lithium-ion batteries found in smartphones and many electric vehicles. Most of the world’s cobalt supply comes from the Congo region. These cobalt-laden chunks of rock leave the country destined for refineries in Europe and China, where they enter the complex supply chains of some of the largest technology and automotive firms.
Creuseurs know their work is physically dangerous. Death and injury from tunnel collapses are not uncommon. Children sometimes join their older brothers and fathers in the mines

Why was domestication an important development in human history?
Advocard [28]
Domesticating plants marked a major turning point for humans: the beginning of an agricultural way of life and more permanent civilizations. Humans no longer had to wander to hunt animals and gather plants for their food supplies. Agriculture—the cultivating of domestic plants—allowed fewer people to provide more food.
