Answer:

Albuquerque is 345 miles away from Flagstaff.

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given three cities:

  • Los Angeles, California(L.A.)
  • Flagstaff,Arizona
  • Albuquerque, New Mexico

The journey took place as:

L.A.--to-----Flagstaff-----to-----Albuquerque.

The distance between L.A. to Albuquerque is 810 miles.

Let the distance between Flagstaff to Albuquerque be 'x' miles.

Also we are given that the distance from L.A. to Flagstaff is 120 miles greater than the distance from Flagstaff to Albuquerque.

i.e. distance from L.A. to Flagstaff is 120+x.

therefore, 120+x+x=810

           ⇒ 120+2 x=810

          ⇒ 2 x=690

         ⇒ x=345.

Hence, the distance between Flagstaff and Albuquerque is 345 miles.

We are given with three points: A is to Los Angeles, California, B is to Flagstaff, Arizona and C is to Albuquerque, New Mexico. We translate the statements:
AB is 120 + xBC is xAC is 810
Thus,
120 + x + x = 810x = 345 miles (B to C)120 + x = 465 miles (A to B)
