Answer:

1

Explanation:

I solved this question by the process of elimination:

1. A very possible answer because it doesn't use strong wording like "will" or "must" or "always". I'll save this answer for later and read the other possible answers.

2. This answer may be true but isn't the only thing that happens. I'll cross this one out.

3. This makes no sense and is trying to trick the reader with fancy language. Plates do not form before the faults do.

4. Earthquakes don't "develop" on the surface of the earth. They do happen with stress built at fault-lines, but not always. I'll cross this one out too.

5. Forces may affect the Earth's rocks with stress at the faults, but I don't see stress building at fault-lines to be a direct cause of this. I'll cross this one out.

Number one seems to be the correct answer as it makes the most sense in the context of the question as well as in its content. It is completely true that energy may be released with continuous stress on faults in the form of kinetic energy or other forms like sound.

Answer: 1. Energy may be released.

2. Rock can bend and break.

4. Earthquakes develop at Earth’s surface.

Explanation: All three of these things are consequences of stress building up at faults.

Hope this helps! :)

The earthquake's magnitude and intensity both tell you how severe an earthquake may be. How are they different?
Inessa [10]

The magnitude tells you how much damage has been caused by the earthquake, while the intensity tells you how much energy was released by the earthquake.

The answer is option B.

Magnitude is a measure of earthquake size and stays unchanged with distance from the earthquake. Depth, but, describes the degree of shaking caused by an earthquake at a given area and decreases with distance from the earthquake epicenter.

The severity of an earthquake may be expressed in terms of each depth and value.

Magnitude measures the strength released on the supply of the earthquake. Magnitude is determined from measurements on seismographs. Intensity measures the energy of shaking produced by means of an earthquake in a certain area. intensity is determined from outcomes on human beings, human systems, and the natural surroundings.

Most Middle East countries are highly dependent on food from abroad
Elena-2011 [213]
The statement is true, most of the countries from the Middle East are heavily dependent on foreign food. Most of this region is desert or semi-desert, so agriculture is not an option. Only few parts manage to produce food, but that is nothing in the whole picture. So the lack of fertile soil and water in this part of the world, made it dependent on foreign food.
