English

Answer: To this question is yes. There are several reasons that have made me believe that it is morally justifiable in breaking the law; however the most convincing comes from Dr. Martin Luther King in his letter from a Birmingham Jail. We can never forget what that everything Hitler did in Germany was legal... (Classic Arguments 668). King went on in his letter to say that it would be against man made law to help a Jew in Nazi Germany. What King said in his letter has to make a person think that not all laws are good for the group in society and morality is a justifiable excuse.

What is one way that Washington Irving transforms a German folktale into an American story?
Salsk061 [2.6K]
One of the most successful and popular early American writers, Washington Irving couldn't have had a clue as to what legacy he would leave behind while he still walked the earth.  Thinking of himself primarily as an essayist and a humorist, he had no inkling that his true calling would be to transform foreign folk tales into appealing moralistic stories for an eager American audience.

A between the lines question asks about something that is not fully explained in the text. Both of these types of questions ask you to look at the bigger picture and to think about the meaning of the text.
