A rhetorical question is C. a question asked solely to produce an effect rather than a reply.

In other words, a rhetorical question isn't supposed to be answered, it's just supposed to give the listener/reader a specific feeling.

Read this passage from a message to a new friend:
saw5 [17]

Answer: A. Pathos and logos

In this passage, the speaker uses both pathos, which is an appeal to emotion, and logos, which refers to an appeal based on logic. She first states that because she does not have a license, she cannot drive. This is a logical argument. Afterwards, she states that it is "totally embarrasing" to be driven to the party by her father. In this case, the speaker makes an appeal to pathos, or to emotions.

Topic sentence: In my own life, I have learned that hard work is the way you achieve your goals.
soldier1979 [14.2K]

Answer:For instance, I worked hard for over a year to learn to do a standing backflip

Attempting to use luck to do a standing backflip without the hard work it takes to prepare for doing one would be foolish and dangerous.

Quick write discussion:<br> “free will means the choice to think or” or not
professor190 [17]

Answer/explanation:

The expression "<em>free</em> will" means the freedom to choose <em>your own choices </em>and/or what goes on around you.

For example, if something happens to you "against your free will" then it happens <em>without </em>your control or your say in the situation.

Hope this helps! :D
