Roosevelt died before the war ended and in his place Harry Truman became the President of the United States of America. Franklin D. Roosevelt died just a month before Germany surrendered. He died in the month of April in the year 1945. President Truman was the lucky President to have seen the end of the war. So there was not one President from the start to the end of World War II. United States of America had two Presidents during this time.

They argued that excessive concentration of power in the hands of the government led to usurpation, and that such a government should be ousted by the citizens. Such ideas have led to many civil revolutions, which were aimed at freedom and independence from dogmatic rule. In essence, the Enlightenment Thinkers have questioned the traditional absolutist mode of government.
