Archetypes are useful in literature because they are easily recognized and convey a lot of information. Archetypes are the characters in the story that have a trait or quality that gives you a lot of information about the character and is easily recognizable. Like how if you had a character and their archatype is hero then you can alredy tell that they are a good person who does good things and fights against evil.
