Africa is a continent that is pretty warm and generally arid or semi arid.

The continent can be divided into several regions, with the Congo Basin and southern half of West Africa being wet and warm, the northern part of the continent being covered in deserts, most of the central, eastern, and southern part, being semi arid grasslands, and small pockets along the sea that have Mediterranean climate.

Most of the northern part part of the continent can be used at all for agriculture.

The grasslands, have fertile soil, but because of the heat and prolonged droughts, can be used for the production of just few plants.

The tropical rainforests do not have very fertile soil, so once cleared and used for agriculture, the soil is fertile for few years, and after that is not good for agriculture as it erodes very easily.

So in general, the continent doesn't have nice conditions for large scale production of food, and that brings lot of people on the verge of existence by suffering from malnutrition.

Summer and Winter are reversed in time between the Southern and Northern Hemispheres. (2 points)
zaharov [31]

Answer:

True

Explanation:

The seasons in the Northern Hemisphere are the opposite of those in the Southern Hemisphere. This means that in Argentina and Australia, winter begins in June. The winter solstice in the Southern Hemisphere is June 20 or 21, while the summer solstice, the longest day of the year, is December 21 or 22.
