Here's one example of a 'free verse stanza of poetry.

"Who am I?" -

Who am I, you ask?

I am a lion who comes off as a lamb.

I am an ocean with waves big enough to drown.

I am a roller coaster of emotions.

I am a hater of ignorant people, liars,

And people who use others for a gain.

I am a lost soul, a naive child.

I am one who has seen enough

That would make most people's skin crawl.

I am me, not you.

I am who I am.

Judging me is only a negative reflection on you.

So who am I, you ask?

I am me...just me.

One identification of how my poem can be considered a free verse because many people go threw many questions and common life problems. People may forget what they are and what their life meaning is. So this can be a 'free verse'.

Which statement best describes the Sapphic stanza?
melomori [17]
The correct answer is A Sapphic stanza consists of four lines where the first three have 11 syllables and the fourth has five. Although its name comes from the ancient poet Sappho, she didn't really write using it and used a different version of it that had 3 lines of the aeolic verse. In her poetry, there was word-end before the final Adonean/

Read the poem "Heat" by H.D. in Explorations in Literature.
MrRa [10]

The first answer is correct: "They suggest that the heat is stifling, giving the poem an oppressive mood".

The author begins the poem with the sentence cited above. The use of the expression "rend open" plus the use of the imperative mode, suggest some sort of desperation caused by the heat. That is why the author prays for wind (an unbeatable natural force) to come and defeat heat, ending the suffering.

What do you feel makes a great piece of creative writing?
Dmitry_Shevchenko [17]

I think that a good thesis statement would help and creative hooks to keep the writer hoook and not get bored and keep reading the story. Also add transition words to connect ideas in the creative writting.
