Henry VIII decided to get rid of his first wife, after she failed to produce a male heir to the throne. Henry was part of a roman catholic church, and roman catholic faith believed in marriage for life. after he declared himself a divorce, under catholic law, his spirit wouldnt go to heaven. England stopped roman catholic belief, and started church of england.
