In iambic pentameter, each verse consists of five metrical feet. Meter is a poem's rhythm, and feet are units of that rhythm.

In an iamb, an unstressed syllable is followed by a stressed syllable, as in the word "hello."

"Penta" means five, so a verse of iambic pentameter has five iambs. Five pairs of unstressed syllables followed by stressed syllables.

Five pairs gives a total of ten syllables. So the answer is B, "each line contains ten syllables."

You'll see the leaves flush with their full golds, reds, and oranges. Nuts and berries begin to turn deeper
Pavel [41]

The option that uses transitions effectively is:
"You'll see the leaves flush with their full golds, reds, and oranges. Similarly, nuts and berries begin to turn deeper brown or red, depending on the type."(Option A)

What is a transition?

In literature, the key purpose of transitions is that they help to connect ideas to each other.

Transitions can occur in a paragraph or between two paragraphs. Examples of expressions that aid transitions are:

 • Likewise
 • Similarly
 • However
 • Nevertheless etc.

In the example above, the word "similarly" is the transition word.
