Answer:

The Second Continental Congress made George Washington the supreme commander of the Continental Army.

Explanation:

Washington began earning decorations by assembling troops from the Virginia colony to support the British Empire during the Franco-Indigenous War (1754-1763), a conflict he inadvertently helped initiate.

The Continental Congress appointed Washington commander in chief of the Continental Army in 1775. The following year, the British were evicted from Boston, lost New York City and were defeated in Trenton, New Jersey, to the surprise caused by Washington crossing the river Delaware. Due to their strategy, revolutionary forces captured the two main British combat armies in the battle of Saratoga and the one in Yorktown. After leading the American victory in the War of Independence, he resigned from his military positions and returned to life at his Mount Vernon plantation, an act that brought him even more popularity.

First and foremost, how would the colonist meet the military threat of the British. It was agreed that a Continental Army would be created. The Congress commissioned George Washington of Virginia to be the supreme commander, who chose to serve without pay.

r-ruslan [8.4K]
The meaning of this quote "A leader is best when people barely know he exists; when his work is done, his aim fulfilled, they will say; we did it ourselves" means if the leader is unknown to many people once he has finished or achieved a remarkable goal other people (such as Laozi) can steal the glory and be remembered for something they didn't do.

What is the most likely reason it was difficult to pass laws under the articles of confederation?
katen-ka-za [31]
The articles weakness was that they gave the federal government so little power that it couldn't keep the country united. The articles were abandoned for the constitution. The articles confederation did not give the federal government the power to tax. The articles of confederation did not have an executive branch in other words no president. The articles of confederation did not have a judicial branch to resolve disputes and set policy. It was very difficult to pass laws under the Articles of Confederation 9/13 of the states had to agree and almost impossible to revise the Articles the need every state to agree in order to make a change.
