Describe the weather factors that are important in determining where plants and animals can exist in an area.
nekit [7.7K]

Answer:

rain is very important for life in certain areas, this is why you see little life in deserts and even they need rain occasionally. more rain will lead to more life, first, it will be the plants that move in, then once they grow, vegetation eaters will move in, then after that meat-eaters will move in to eat those creatures and the ecosystem will flourish.

9. a) How does hydrogen bonding help the transport of water in plants?
grigory [225]

Answer:

Water has a high Cohesion because of Hydrogen bonding. This is important as transport of water in the Xylem in plants relies on water being pulled up. Cohesion also gives the water a high surface tension, allowing small organisms, such as Pond Skaters, to walk along it.

Explanation:

Water molecules forming hydrogen bonds with one another. The partial negative charge on the O of one molecule can form a hydrogen bond with the partial positive charge on the hydrogens of other molecules. Water molecules are also attracted to other polar molecules and to ions.

Plants obtain the hydrogen they need from water molecules. Don't try to feed your plant hydrogen gas -- your plant wouldn't know what to do with it if you did. As long as they have water, plants can readily obtain all the hydrogen they need. :)

Why lactic acid fermentation is considered a type of Anaerobic respiration, when both of them are different things.
zepelin [54]

Answer:

Lactic acid fermentation is a type of anaerobic respiration

(or fermentation) that breaks down sugars to produce

energy in the form of ATP. It is called anaerobic because it

occurs in the absence of oxygen . Lactic acid is generated

as a byproduct of this reaction, which is what gives this

type of fermentation its name.

and also Lactic acid fermentation is the type of anaerobic

respiration carried out by yogurt bacteria (Lactobacillus

and others)
