The thesis statement is the driving force of the paper and it tells whoever is reading the essay the main point of the paper and it does two things.
First, the thesis statement answers the essay question which is the prompt and make sure to be very specific when you do that. Also, the thesis must address the "so what." The "so what" is the larger message, the takeaway message.
