There are lots of reasons why people read. You may simply want to relax, after a long day, I find it quite relaxing to just chill and read for a couple of hours. You can do specific reading, in order to bolster your understanding on a specific subject. We can also boost our vocabulary when reading, we learn new words constantly. You can train your brain, because you need to visualize a whole world while reading. Some people read because it makes them feel good.
