Find u 2 pairs of points on ur line. (10,3)(0,-2)

now we use the slope formula to find the slope.
slope(m) = (y2 = y1) / (x2 - x1)
set 1 : (10,3)...x1 = 10 and y1 = 3
set 2 : (0,-2)...x2 = 0 and y2 = -2
now we sub
slope(m) = (-2 - 3) / (0 - 10) = -5/-10 = 1/2

now we use y = mx + b
slope(m) = 1/2
u can use either of ur sets of points
(0,-2)...x = 0 and y = -2
now we sub and solve for b, the y int
-2 = 1/2(0) + b
-2 = b

so ur equation of ur line is : y = 1/2x + (-2) or y = 1/2x - 2

Y=mx+b
m=slope
b=yintercept

find slope and y intercept

slope is rise/run
it goes up y units and goes x units to the right

so
we see it goes up 2 and to the right 4
2/4=1/2
slope=1/2

yintercept is where the line crosses the y axis (up and down line)
it crosses at y=-2

y=mx+b
m=1/2
b=-2
y=1/2x-2

What is the logarithmic formula 10000= 625/8*2^t ?
Elodia [21]

9514 1404 393

Answer:

     log(128) = t·log(2)

Step-by-step explanation:

You can take logarithms the way the formula is, or you can simplify it first.

<u>As is</u>

  log(10000) = log(625) -log(8) +t·log(2)

__

<u>Simplified</u>

  8·10000/625 = 2^t . . . . . multiply by 8/625

  128 = 2^t

  log(128) = t·log(2)

_____

Solution:

  t = log(128)/log(2) = 7

Sam and liam raced each other up and down the hill. Sam's avrage speed up hill was 1 mph, and his avrage speed down hill is 9 mp
Simora [160]

Answer:

a. i. 1.11 h ii. 1 h. b. Liam

Step-by-step explanation:

a.

i. Sam's time

We know distance d = vt where v = speed and t = time.

Since our distance here is the length of the path, d = 1 mile.

For Sam, his speed up the hill is v = 1 mph, so, the time it takes him to go uphill is t = d/v = 1 mi/1 mph = 1 h.

He goes down hill at a speed of v = 9 mph, so the time it takes him to go down hill is t = d/v = 1 mi/9 mph = 1/9 h = 0.11 h

So, the total time it takes him to complete the trip is t = 1 h + 0.11 h = 1.11 h

ii. Liam's time

For Liam, his speed both uphill and downhill is v = 2 mph, so, the time it takes to cover each trip is t = d/v = 1 mi/2 mph = 0.5 h.

So for both uphill and downhill trip, the total time is t' = 2 × 0.5 h = 1 h

b. Since Liam's time t' = 1 h < Sam's time t = 1.11 h, that is t' = 1h < t = 1.11 h, Liam is the winner.

Applying properties of Exponents in exercise,use the properties of exponents to simplify the expression.See example 1.
Paladinen [302]

Answer:  a) 1024, b) 1, c) 64 and d) 0.125.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we have given that

(a) (4^3)(4^2)

As we know that

a^m\times a^n=a^{m+n}

So, it becomes,

4^3\times 4^2=4^{3+2}=4^5=1024

(b) (\dfrac{1}{4})^2(4^2)

As we know that

a^{-m}=\dfrac{1}{a^m}

(\dfrac{1}{4})^2(4^2)=4^-2\times 4^2=4^{-2+2}=4^0=1

c) (4^6)1/2

As we know that

(4^6)^{\frac{1}{2}}\\\\=4^{\frac{6}{2}}\\\\=4^3\\\\=64

(d) [(8^{-1})(8^{\frac{2}{3}})]^3

As we know that

[(8^{-1})(8^{\frac{2}{3}})]^3\\\\=[8^{-1+\frac{2}{3}}]^3\\\\=[8^{\frac{-1}{3}}]^3\\\\=8^{-1}\\\\=\dfrac{1}{8}=0.125

Hence, a) 1024, b) 1, c) 64 and d) 0.125.
