The correct answer is C.

In his autobiograph "My Bondage and My Freedom" Frederick Douglass was living in Baltimore, Maryland. He lived with his new master, Hugh Auld, a ship carpenter and brother of Thomas Auld, and his wife.

Unlike on the plantations, where he was treated like a pig, in the house he was treated like a child. Auld's wife even try to teach him how to read until her husband stopped her because he believed slaves should know nothing but the wills of their masters.

How does President Obama show respect for his predecessor even though they
kompoz [17]

Answer:

Even if former President Obama disagreed in most topics with his predecessor: former Presdient Bush, he can show respect to his predecessor by acting "presidential:

  • Keeping those policies that were enacted by Bush, and that he agrees with, as long as they are working for the benefit of the country. Doing this instead of backtracking every policy simply because his predecessor issued them is acting presidential.
  • Employing fair criticism toward his predecessor, without employing fallacies, or excessively partisan arguments.
  • Working with those who were part of the former administration if it is for the benefit of the country.
