Moonlight is not the light of his own. It's the reflection of the Sun's light which falls on it's side.

And Sun is a star who is the source for light in our Solar system.

The reason it is D is because I said so- Just kidding. It's D because a fable is a short story, typically with animals as characters, conveying a moral. Usually fables include talking animals who make a good learning lesson. The other answers wouldn't make sense to why it would be a fable.
