Parece que el Anacoreta es un ermitaño para propósitos religiosos y permanece bastante en aislamiento o separado de la sociedad en general. A pesar de que esa definición emigraba hacia la religión, donde, como ermitaño, parece haber sido una persona que solo se separó por un tiempo tal vez para obtener la iluminación espiritual.
