Which sentence has a dangling modifier?

English
2 answers:
o-na [289]4 years ago

The sentence that has a dangling modifier is: <em><u>"Jumping for joy, the basketball championship was won".</u></em>

Explanation: A dangling modifier happens when the subject being modified, isn't evident in the sentence and that leads to confusing the reader because most of the time that sentences is not going to make sense.

In the sentence: <em><u>"Jumping for joy, the basketball championship was won". </u></em>we can see that the subject described as the winner, is not there which leads the reader to feel confused about which of the team won the championship.

In terms of what it shows about America, being American, and America's core values, with which work did you identify the most?
anzhelika [568]

Answer and Explanation:

One work that most identifies me is the poem "I Hear America Singing" written by Walt Whitman. In this poem, the author shows the feeling of unity and pride in being an American. I believe that these feelings are two fundamental values for American society, as a society that works together, each citizen with their responsibility, each citizen with their importance, helping each other and making America a harmonious and efficient unit. This unity provokes a strong pride in all citizens, allowing everyone to feel happy to recognize and publicize that he / she is American.

Which corrects any error in the use of apostrophes in the sentence?
andrew11 [14]
I'm not sure but I would go with C. if I were you because s' is possession of a group of people for example All the moms' children in the school were punished moms' is possession of more than one mom but mom's is possession of one mom so if you say childrens' instead of children's that would be wrong because children is a plural by itself so you can't turn a plural into a plural possession all you have to do is just put 's after a plural word to give it possession.

Marie Curie is the woman. she discovered radium. *
erica [24]

Answer:

1) Marie Curie is the woman who discovered radium.

Explanation:

In the given sentences, the first one is a dependent clause while the second is an independent clause. And to join these two independent clauses, we can use the pronoun "who" to join the two.

By using the pronoun "who" to introduce the relative clause "discovered radium", the "who" refers to the subject of the sentence.

Therefore, the correct sentence is option 1 "Marie Curie is the woman who discovered radium."
