The answer is, NO. scribes went to scribe school from dawn till dusk every day, and had to learn 700 hieroglyphics. if they did something wrong, they would be beaten. scribes had to record everything. Instead of writing with a pencil (which is very easy to use) they wrote with papyrus, which is a type of reed. it was a difficult job, and very difficult to train for it. only men could become scribes

How did nixon's new federalism and detente shape his presidency?
Annette [7]
1) New Federalism- This domestic policy focused on the federal government giving more power to the states in terms of how they spend funds on fixing social issues. The goal of this plan for Nixon was to role back the scope and size of the federal government. This shaped his presidency significantly, as advocates of states rights fully supported his policy.

2) Detente- This refers to Nixon's relations with the Soviet Union during the Cold War. This term marks a significant improvement in the relationship between the United States and Soviet Union. This couple year span affected his presidency in a positive manner, as people did not fear nuclear warfare as much as they did during the Kennedy administration.

Rome’s roads facilitated the administration of a vast empire. What is the meaning of the expression “All roads lead to Rome”?
Natali [406]
Since Rome was such a big empire and trading center, I assume "all roads lead to Rome" means that most of the trading roads in Europe led to Italy or somewhere around Rome.
Hope this helps a bit :)
