The tone in written compositions can be defined as the attitude the writer has towards an object or audience, which for example can be sarcastic, sad, serious, etc. Following this definition the first statement "A cell phone can be annoying when you forget to turn on the silent feature before going to sleep" matches with the angry tone, as the writer is expressing how irritating can be when you don't turn the silent mode, maybe because he just experienced it.

The second statement "The problem is that the battery doesn’t last long, but I don’t mind carrying a charger" matches with the accepting tone because the writer is expressing a flaw but at the same time he is addopting a solution.

The third statement "I think we can soon expect a technology that charges phones in seconds" matches with the optimistic tone as the writer is expecting a positive outcome in the future.

The fourth statement "The cell phone makes calling convenient from all possible locations." matches with the objective tone as the writer is expressing an idea based on facts and completly unbiased.

The last statement "I will always cherish my first cell phone because it was a gift from my dad" matches with the sentimental tone, here as the writer looks back on a memory he feels emotional about it.

Another would be Elizabeth in the aftermath of Justine's conviction: She talks about how she loved Justine, and believes her innocent of William's murder, and she is devastated when Justine is convicted despite her testimony in her favor.
