Rnaway slaves who escaped to Florida were sheltered by the Seminoles and allowed to join their tribes. Option D is correct.

Slaves escaping plantations in the American South first started heading to Spanish Florida in the late 1600s when Spain granted freedom to fugitives who agreed on protecting the Spanish crown. By the 1780s black fugitives formed and forged strategic alliances with the Seminole Indians, who had relocated from Alabama as well as Georgia, granted shelter and allowed fugitives to join their tribes.
