1. What is the story behind the eagle and the serpent from the mexico flag?

I'm not sure about 2 and 3, but the Aztecs built Tenochtitlan because they saw an eagle holding a snake on a pr(i)ckly pear cactus and thought it was a sign from the gods. They based the flag off of that.
