Read the excerpt from Richard Wright’s Black Boy. Hunger stole upon me so slowly that at first I was not aware of what hunger re

ally meant. Hunger had always been more or less at my elbow when I played, but now I began to wake up at night to find hunger standing at my bedside, staring at me gauntly. The hunger I had known before this had been no grim, hostile stranger; it had been a normal hunger that had made me beg constantly for bread, and when I ate a crust or two I was satisfied. But this new hunger baffled me, scared me, and made me angry and insistent. Whenever I begged for food now my mother would pour me a cup of tea which would still the clamor in my stomach for a moment or two; but a little later I would feel hunger nudging my ribs, twisting my empty guts till they ached. I would grow dizzy and my vision would dim. I became less active in my play, and for the first time in my life I had to pause and think of what was happening to me. mr_godi [17]
When looking for a root word you want to locate the part of the word that doesn't include prefixes or suffixes. The root of exventare is 'vent', which is seen in the word ventilator.

The definition also aligns with the root word (ventus, meaning wind), because a ventilator is a type of fan that allows air to exit a room. In medicine,  it is also a device that helps a person breathe--allowing air to enter and exit their bodies.

Protagonist protagonist or antagonist?
Korvikt [17]

Hello. You have not introduced the characters to which the question refers, which makes it impossible for your question to be answered accurately. However, I will try to help you in the best possible way.

The protagonist of a story is the main character and most of the time, represents "the good guy" of the story. The situations that are presented in the story revolve around this character and are ir goals and it struggles, which make up the story's purpose and develops all the elements that make up the plot. In a nutshell, the protagonist is the hero and the one who has the story told by the plot.

The antagonist, on the other hand, is the opposite of the protagonist, usually being constructed as the villain of the story. Antagonists have controversial goals and generally hinder the success of the protagosnista, directly or indirectly.
