Using trees to control erosion
Trees are often considered to be the universal answer to control soil erosion. Tree roots help prevent landslides on steep slopes and stream bank erosion but they don’t stop erosion on moderately sloping hill slopes.
In forests, the soil surface is usually protected by a layer of mulch from decaying vegetation as well as a variety of surface growing plants. If the soil is bare under the tree canopy from over grazing, vehicles or pedestrians, soil erosion will still occur.
The correct answer is - D. baseball and hip hop music are popular in Japan.
Historically, Japan has been a country in relative isolation, so the influences from outside were very few and limited. This all changed relatively recently, after the World War II, when Japan started to intensely accumulate and accept foreign culture, mostly the Western one.
The United States were the country that had the most influence on Japan, and one of those things was the entertainment, so the typically American sport game of baseball became very popular in Japan. Also, the Hip Hop music, reached Japan immediately after its break through on the scene, and the people liked it a lot, so it is one of the most popular music types in the country.
