Answer:

True

Explanation:

Union officers who believed that black soldiers were not as skilled or as brave as white soldiers were. By this logic, they thought that African Americans were better suited for jobs as carpenters, cooks, guards, scouts and teamsters.

Even as they fought to end slavery in the Confederacy, African-American Union soldiers were fighting against another injustice as well. The U.S. Army paid black soldiers $10 a week.

By the time the war ended in 1865, about 180,000 black men had served as soldiers in the U.S. Army.

Why was the 3rd amendment added to the constitution?
IgorC [24]

Answer and explanation:

The 3rd amendment prohibited the requirement of quartering soldiers of American citizens' homes. What does this mean? Well, back when America was powered by King George III, when a soldier wanted to, they could enter someone's home. Americans were required to housekeep the soldiers, give them food, shelter, etc. The people didn't like this, so when they declared independence, they made the Bill of Rights. And on the Bill of Rights, they made 10 amendments, and the 3rd one said that Americans no longer had to housekeep the soldiers. Hope this helps!
