Alternate interior angles are congruent...they are equal. So lets set them equal and solve for x

3x + 17 = x + 53
3x - x = 53 - 17
2x = 36
x = 36/2
x = 18

A total of 326 adult and student tickets were sold for a high school play. The ticket prices were $8 for adults and $5 for stude
Trava [24]

Answer:

212 tickets were sold

Step-by-step explanation:

a (adult) + s (student) = 326

8a + 5s = 1972

-5(a + s = 326)

-5a-5s=1630

3a/3 = 342/3

a = 114

114 + s = 326

s = 212
