Answer: A. Russell's sister takes after their mother, but he does not.

In the story, there is no implication of Russell not being obedient. He is so obedient he performs the job he hates everyday because his mother tells him to do so. There is also no sign of Russell's sister wanting to become a writer.

The author mentions that he has learned all of his mother's maxims as well, so that is not a difference between them. The difference is that his sister feels compelled to say them, and means them, because they align with what she thinks. This is because the sister is more similar to their mother than Russell.

Answer:

A. Russell's sister takes after their mother, but he does not.

Explanation:

In the story Russel is shown as an obbedient son and a well beheaved boy, the only difference between him and his sister would be that she takes after her mother while Russel does not, his sister lectures him like if she was his mother and treats him like a little boy, he has a different spirit and ways, and his sister do not like that.

What commentary is Eliot making about love in Alfred j prufrock?
Karo-lina-s [1.5K]

Answer:   Prufrock” displays the two most important characteristics of Eliot’s early poetry. First, it is strongly influenced by the French Symbolists, like Mallarmé, Rimbaud, and Baudelaire, whom Eliot had been reading almost constantly while writing the poem. From the Symbolists, Eliot takes his sensuous language and eye for unnerving or anti-aesthetic detail that nevertheless contributes to the overall beauty of the poem (the yellow smoke and the hair-covered arms of the women are two good examples of this)
