The question is incomplete because it does not provide any options, which are the following:

A. She likes fish, so I think she will like sushi.

B. If you like strawberries, you will like burritos.

C. He likes to read, so I'm sure he will enjoy the library.

D. If you like steak and potatoes, you will like this stew.

Answer:

B. If you like strawberries, you will like burritos.

Explanation:

Non sequitur refers to a stated conclusion that is not necessarily a logical result of the facts presented. In the answer, the fact that all the houses in the area are expensive does not necessarily imply that they are well-built.

Other examples of non sequitur are:

I've lived in this town for a long time and my grandfather was the first mayor, so I'm against putting fluoride in the drinking water!

Matt likes cooking, which involves food, so he should work at a grocery store.

The ailing young woman is often frustrated because, although she knows her __________ is not her fault, she still feels guilty a
Snowcat [4.5K]

Taking the context into consideration, we can complete the sentence in the following manner:

- The ailing young woman is often frustrated because, although she knows her debilitation is not her fault, she still feels guilty about her lassitude.

 • In order to complete the sentence, we must first look for context clues in it that may help us understand what words should be used.
 • The sentence mentions an ailing young woman. When we look up the meaning of "ailing", we find it refers to being in poor health.
 • Therefore, we can assume the rest of the sentence will keep on talking about health issues.
 • With that in mind, the best answers are "debilitation" and "lassitude" (the fourth option).
 • "Debilitation" is the process of reducing the strength of something or someone.
 • "Lassitude" refers to a state of lack of strength or energy.

Who from "Lord of the Flies" do you think would make the best leader?
Pavlova-9 [17]

Answer:

I personally think Ralph but others may think differently

Explanation:

To be a good leader, one must cater to the people while still being responsible and taking charge. In the story “Lord of the Flies” by William Golding, a group of boys get stuck on an island without adults from a plane crash. Two of the main characters, Ralph and Jack, wish to be leader, but eventually end up splitting into two groups that result in a bit of a rivalry. Between the two, Ralph is a much better leader.

Ralph cares more for the boys than Jack. When mentioned, Ralph shut down the idea of the beast in attempt for the boys not to worry, “But I tell you there isn’t a beast!” (Golding, pg. 36) Jack let them believe in the beast, “but if there was a snake we’d hunt it and kill it.” (pg. 36) This shows that Ralph doesn’t want the others to think it is possible so they don’t fear and only focus on the beast, while Jack lets them believe in the beast and fear it. Ralph accepted and listened to everyone, including Piggy, but Jack always shut Piggy down for no good reason and punished anyone that wouldn’t listen to him, trying to take complete control of them like they were his puppets.

What do you do ""spring and all"" convey about nature? Discuss how this theme relates to the conventions of pastoral poetry.
Alona [7]

Answer:

"Spring and all" relates to the conventions of pastoral poetry because:

The poem describes nature in a certain scenario but it complements it by idealizing it with a value judgment.

Explanation:

The two reasons that back the answer are that in the first place description is good and objective. However, when it is complemented with believes, and opinions, they gain a grade of value judgment. In our case the association between pastoral poetry and the poem of William is that he idealizes certain aspects of the scenario he describes like:

But now the stark dignity of

entrance—Still, the profound change

has come upon them: rooted, they

grip down and begin to awaken

Providing dignity to a natural characteristic that is improper of it. Showing his idealizations.
