What tone does this passage convey? Hannah’s neighbors had been planning a surprise birthday party for her for weeks. She had no

idea what they were planning. On the day of her birthday, she and her daughter went shopping. When they came back, Hannah told her daughter to go ahead of her and unlock the door. When she opened the door, Hannah saw the lights in her house go on and heard “Surprise!” She laughed and realized that her daughter’s entrance had started the party.
