Answer: The Three kingdoms period, then, was a time when the Korean states were able to take advantage of the four centuries of political fragmentation that China suffered between the fall of the Han in the early 3rd century CE and the rise of the Sui dynasty from 581 CE and push forwards to achieve their own cultural development by absorbing and adapting the best cultural and political practices of ancient China.
