Creating arguments follow the instruction for each of the problems below. Construct a modus ponens syllogism to support this con
Nonamiya [84]

Modus Ponens for the statement is, " Recession will be there in the economy next year." A syllogism is "there is a decline in economic activity hence every economy would be in recession next year".

Explanation

 • Modus Ponens is the rule of inference or rule of logic in which there are one premise and consequent results of the premise. There is a conditional statement which means that if an event 1 happens then event 2 would happen and if event 1 happens then event 2 would be inferred as the consequent result. For instance, If A connotes B and A is considered to be true then obviously by the rule of Modus Ponens B is also true.
 • A syllogism is deductive reasoning where inference is drawn after assessing two other ideas or premises. For instance, all men can speak therefore Tom can also speak. The premises is all men can speak and Tom speaks and the conclusion is ll men speak and hence Tom can also speak.
 • In the above sentence, the economy will be in recession next year the Modus Ponens is Recession will be there in every economy next year. There is one premise which is The economy will be in recession and the consequent premise is that recession will be there in the economy. Syllogism revolves around two premises and one conclusion, therefore, the economy is premise number one and every economy is premise number two Therefore the conclusion is as above.
