What is most likely the purpose of the passage?

English

The most likely the purpose of the passage is D. It is to teach that it’s the little things in life that count.

EXPLANATION:

The passage tells a story about a father who misleads the meaning of worth a thing in life. He thought that it was nice cars and privates schools that his family wanted. He thought that it was an expensive vacation such as staying a week in Cancun which his family dreamt of.

Yet, it is his “presence” into the family, physically and psychologically, that his family desires for such a long time. Lesson learned from this story is that “money cannot buy happiness” and “money cannot replace your figure to your family”. Your family needs you, your presence, not your money.

Here are some things to think about:

• You may work so hard to earn money, but don’t sacrifice your time with your family. Do all you can to make money and to fulfill your basic needs. Once it is fulfilled, make a schedule to have some quality times with family.

• Your presence to the family is way more important than your money. Once you think that your money is enough to fulfill their basic needs, it is time to gather with family.

• Don’t compare your life to others. They might be richer than you but they aren’t happier than you. Do whatever which will create happiness for you and your family.

• Spend more time and energy to experience, not to earn kinds of stuff. The experience will create memories which last longer than just kinds of stuff.

Answer:

The answer is "d" To teach that it's the little things in life that count.

Explanation:

The passage is about a person who feels guilty about paying attention to the wrong things in his/her life. That person thought that expensive things were the ones that had sense in his/her life but she or he discovered that little things are the ones that count to be happy in this life. So answer "d" which says <em>"To teach that it's the little things in life that count"</em> is the answer that summarizes the passage.

Answer:

And when . . . people enter into a free government, they do not barter away their natural rights; they simply pledge themselves to protect each other in the enjoyment of them, through prescribed judicial and legislative tribunals.

Explanation:

An ellipsis is a series of three dots that is used to indicate the omission of surplus words that can be understood or decoded by examining context clues.

In the excerpt above, the omission of the figures 100, and 1,000,000 still allowed for the retention of the meaning of the passage. Therefore, an ellipsis can be used to replace these figures and shorten Anthony's words.
