Answer: B) When I go away from you.

Explanation: Imagery is a literary device that consists in the use of figurative language or detailed descriptions in order to evoke the senses of the reader (sight, smell, taste, hearing, or touch) and to create a mental picture. From the given options, the only one that does not include an example of imagery, is the corresponding to option B: when I go away from you, because it doesn't evoke any sense.

In the excerpt, the word "pungent" refers to the pickles' aroma.
Pungent is a word to describe a very strong smell, very sharp and biting. So when Untermeyer used the word pungent to refer to the pickles, he was talking about their aroma, which is a fancy way to say smell.

VMariaS [17]

In chapter 40, Sal receives a gift chicken from Ben. Chickens are Sal's favorite animal. However, this is not the only thing that is interesting about the chicken. The name of the chicken is Blackberry, which is interesting for two reasons. The first one is that blackberries remind Sal of her mother, and the feeling of fondness and sweetness associated with her. The irony, however, is that the chicken also reminds her of kissing, based on the story of the girl who claimed that kissing tasted like chicken. When Sal kissed a tree, she also felt a trace of blackberry, which reminded her of her mother.
