Examples;

A compound sentence contains at least two independent clauses joined by a comma, semicolon, or conjunction.

Examples;

 • 5. Many people believe that organic foods are too expensive, but others believe that the health benefits of eating organic foods outweigh the expense.

A compound-complex sentence has at least two independent clauses and one or more dependent clauses.

Examples;

What is a dependant clause
Ray Of Light [21]
A subordinate clause, dependent clause or embedded clause is a clause that is embedded within a complex sentence. For instance, in the English sentence "I know that Bette is a dolphin", the clause "that Bette is a dolphin" occurs as the complement of the verb "know" rather than as a freestanding sentence.
