Do biological systems contradict the second law of thermodynamics? by taking energy from their surroundings and synthesizing lar
Bogdan [553]
Biological systems do not contradict the second law of thermodynamics. Even in this case, entropy is still always increasing. Biological systems can only decrease their own entropy by using copious amounts of energy and by increasing entropy in their surrounding environment. Also, unfavorable anabolism reactions are always paired with more favorable reactions, such as the use of ATP in order to make the overall Gibb's free energy of the reaction negative.

pishuonlain [190]

Answer:

Golgi apparatus

Explanation:

Once the protein products are packaged in the endoplasmic reticulum into vesicles that fuse to the Golgi apparatus, these protein products are modified by enzymes. These changes are called post-translational modifications and include the addition of carbohydrates, lipids or some other functional groups. All these modifications are key for protein functionality. After this process is concluded, functional proteins are packaged into vesicles and released to their final destination inside or outside the cell.
