Art across ancient culures has many similarities and many differences. One example of this is ancient Greece and Rome. When Rome began, it adopted many greek arts, like depicting Greek Gods on vases, and sometimes even effigy containers, often using the colors black and red, because those were the main option of color in those times. An example of differences between artworks throught ancient times are the viking longships. Some people do not consider these to be a work of art, but they had carvings of scary or friendly creatures that they would screw in on the front of their ships to mean something. These sculptures much differed from Mesopotamian Paintings in many ways, obviously because these cultures were thoulsands of years apart, and one is 3D
The very soft and classy art and architecture of the Roman culture and their ideas of Enlightenment are some of the characteristics which French artists where drawn to.
(I’m not rlly sure on this one but I hope I helped!!)
Las Meninas by Diego Valazquez is the painting that you are referring to. It is a rather famous painting and extremely popular for academics in the western world.
I believe the correct answer is ornate vertical columns.
The Ancient Greek architecture is distinct for its trabeated
system (also known as past and lintel), the use of horizontal beams or lintels
which are borne up by columns. The vertical of the temple support a structure
that rises in two main stages – entablature and the pediment. Ornamentation of
the columns was done in three different styles the Doric style (simple circular
capitals), the Ionic style (use of volutes) and the Corinthian style (floral
ornaments). For example: Temple of Portunus (Ionic style), The Parthenon (Doric
style) and The Pantheon (Corinthian style).
