Answer:

The average age of the children at the library is 7.1 years.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

Out of 20 children, six of the children have an average age of 5 years,

Thus, the sum of the ages of 6 students = 5 × 6 = 30

( Total sum of observations = Their Average × Total numbers of the observations )

Now, remaining students = 20 - 6 = 14,

Since, the remaining children have an average age of 8 years.

Thus, the sum of the ages of 14 students = 14 × 8 = 112,

Total sum of the ages of 20 students = 30 + 112 = 142

\text{The average of 20 students}=\frac{\text{Total sum of the ages of 20 students}}{20}

=\frac{142}{20}

=7.1\text{ years}

So if there are twenty children and 6 have an average age of five, you could say their total age together is 30 years. The others (20-6) have an age of 8.

30+ (20-6)*8 = total age of every child at the library. From there divide by the number of children.

PLEASE HELP solve x^2 - 64 = 0
scoray [572]

Answer:

x = -8 and x = 8

Step-by-step explanation:

x^2 - 64 = 0                     Our first step is to factor

(x + 8)(x - 8) = 0          Now use zero product property to help solve for x

x + 8 = 0            x - 8 = 0

x = -8                 x = 8

Hope this helps!

Find the measure of each angle.
Galina-37 [17]

<u>Given</u>:

Given that the isosceles trapezoid JKLM.

The measure of ∠K is 118°

We need to determine the measure of each angle.

<u>Measure of ∠L:</u>

By the property of isosceles trapezoid, we have;

\angle K+\angle L=180^{\circ}

118^{\circ}+\angle L=180^{\circ}

           \angle L=62^{\circ}

Thus, the measure of ∠L is 62°

<u>Measure of ∠M:</u>

By the property of isosceles trapezoid, we have;

\angle L \cong \angle M

Substituting the value, we get;

62^{\circ}=\angle M

Thus, the measure of ∠M is 62°

<u>Measure of ∠J:</u>

By the property of isosceles trapezoid, we have;

\angle J \cong \angle K

Substituting the value, we get;

\angle J =118^{\circ}

Thus, the measure of ∠J is 118°

Hence, the measures of each angles of the isosceles trapezoid are ∠K = 118°, ∠L = 62°, ∠M = 62° and ∠J = 118°
