The answer is homologous structures.

Homologous structures are similar structures shared by different species. For example, the anatomy of the front limbs of amphibians, lizards, and mammals, support the idea that these groups have a common ancestor. But since these groups are different enough to be separated into different classes, it can be concluded that they evolved from the common ancestor.

The bones in the front limbs of many mammals are similar in their structure and arrangement because they have common ancestors. The term used to describe the physical similarities between related species is Homologous organs. A very common example of homologous structure in mammals are forelimbs of human, whale and dogs. These structure perform different function such that the forearm of human is used for holding things, flippers of whale are used for swimming and forearm of dog is used for walking and running.

If a wildfire destroyed all the trees in a forest, what might happen to the ecosystem? Select all that apply.
bija089 [108]
Okay, I googled it because I wasn’t sure but, according to the article *ahem* “Destructive as forest fires may seem, forests often regrow in their wake. In some cases, however, forest fires become so intense they cause severe damage to the soil that may take years or even decades to repair”.

Hope this helped!
