Your school counselor has given you clear directions that you and your best friend should not be seen within 240 feet of each ot

her after school. You should be at football practice and your best friend should be in the computer lab for their AVA course.
Your best friend needed to quickly give you something after school. Therefore, they met you on the football field. To make sure you did not get in trouble with your coach and counselor, you made sure you were 240 feet apart.

Discuss the following:
1. Tell us how you calculated your 240 feet distance apart on the football field. (30 pts)
2. What yard line would you stand on? What yard line would your best friend stand on? (35 pts)
3. Would it matter if you were both standing in the middle of the yard line versus standing diagonal to each other? Why? (35 pts)

Answer:

1. 80 yd

2. 10 and 10 of the other side

3. yes

Step-by-step explanation:

1. As we were asked to stay 240 feet away, and we will be on a soccer field and it has marked distances in yards we just have to pass our feet to yards.

1 ft = 1/3 yd

240 ft = 240/3 yd

240 ft =  80 yd

2. one would have to stand in yard 10 and the other in yard 10 but from the other side of the field

50-10 = 40

40 + 40 = 80 yd

3.

if they are diagonally the distance will be greater than 80, since the yards are parallel, because only the distance would remain only if they are on the same height

Answer:

488 sq ft

Step-by-step explanation:

Alright, so:

The formula for the area of a trapezoid is as follows:

A=\frac{a+b}{2} h

In this case, a and b are the bases.

Insert the values into our equation and we have...

A = \frac{39+17}{2} (16)\\A = \frac{56}{2} (16)\\A = 488ft^{2}
