If you only have 5 quart pitcher and a 3 quart pitcher, how do you measure 1 quart

Use the 3 quart pitcher to fill the 5 quart pitcher twice.
The second time you pour the 3 quart pitcher into the 5 quart pitcher, you will only be able to pour 2 quarts out, because then the 5 quart pitcher will be full.
Since you will be pouring 2 quarts out of the 3 quart pitcher, there will be 1 quart left in the 3 quart pitcher.

I'm not sure if I explained that in a way that makes sense, if I didn't just PM me or leave a comment or something and I'll try to explain better.

Hope this helps!!

Which polynomial correctly combines the like term and express the given polynomial in standard form
ankoles [38]

Answer:

8mn^5 - 2m^6 + 5m^2n^4 - m^3n^3 + n^6 - 4m^6 + 9m^2n^4 - mn^5 - 4m^3n^3 = -6m^6  - mn^5 - 5m^3n^3 + 14m^2n^4 + 8mn^5  + n^6

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

8mn^5 - 2m^6 + 5m^2n^4 - m^3n^3 + n^6 - 4m^6 + 9m^2n^4 - mn^5 - 4m^3n^3

Required

Correctly combine the like terms

We have:

8mn^5 - 2m^6 + 5m^2n^4 - m^3n^3 + n^6 - 4m^6 + 9m^2n^4 - mn^5 - 4m^3n^3

Collect like terms (in decreasing degrees of m)

- 2m^6 - 4m^6  - mn^5- m^3n^3  - 4m^3n^3+ 5m^2n^4  + 9m^2n^4 + 8mn^5  + n^6

-6m^6  - mn^5 - 5m^3n^3 + 14m^2n^4 + 8mn^5  + n^6

So:

8mn^5 - 2m^6 + 5m^2n^4 - m^3n^3 + n^6 - 4m^6 + 9m^2n^4 - mn^5 - 4m^3n^3 = -6m^6  - mn^5 - 5m^3n^3 + 14m^2n^4 + 8mn^5  + n^6

In circle V, r = 14ft.
Bad White [126]

For this case we have that by definition, the area of a circle is given by:

A = \pi * r ^ 2

Where:

r: It is the radius of the circle

According to the data of the statement we have that the circle has a radius of 14 \ ft

Substituting in the formula we have:

A = \pi * (14) ^ 2\\A = \pi * 196\\A = 196 \pi

So, the area of the circle is 196 \pi feet squared

Which method should be used to solve for x?<br><br> 2.5 x=5.7
gulaghasi [49]

Answer:

To solve for x in equation 2.5x=5.7  we should use Division property of equality.

Step-by-step explanation:

Consider  the given  equation 2.5x=5.7

Division property of equality states when we divide both sides of an equation by same non zero number , then also both sides remain equal

Applying  Division property of equality to the given equation

2.5x=5.7

Divide both sides by 2.5

\Rightarrow \frac{2.5x}{2.5}=\frac{5.7}{2.5}

We get,

\Rightarrow x=2.28

Thus, to solve for x  in equation 2.5x=5.7 we should use Division property of equality.

Abby bought two slices of pizza and
Misha Larkins [42]

The solution is price of 1 slice of pizza  is $ 1.75 and price of 1 bottle of water is $ 1.25

<em><u>Solution:</u></em>

Let "p" be the price of 1 slice of pizza

Let "b" be the price of 1 bottle of water

<em><u>Given that Abby bought two slices of pizza and  three bottles of water for $7.25</u></em>

So we can frame a equation as:

two slices of pizza x price of 1 slice of pizza  + three bottles of water x price of 1 bottle of water = $ 7.25

2 \times p + 3 \times b = 7.25

2p + 3b = 7.25 ------- eqn 1

<em><u>Cameron bought four slices of pizza and  one bottle of water for $8.25</u></em>

So we can frame a equation as:

four slices of pizza x price of 1 slice of pizza  + one bottles of water x price of 1 bottle of water = $ 8.25

4 \times p + 1 \times b = 8.25

4p + 1b = 8.25 ----- eqn 2

<em><u>Let us solve eqn 1 and eqn 2 to find values of "p" and "b"</u></em>

Multiply eqn 1 by 2

4p + 6b = 14.5 ----- eqn 3

Subtract eqn 2 from eqn 3

4p + 6b = 14.5

4p + 1b = 8.25

( - ) ------------------

5b = 6.25

<h3>b = 1.25</h3>

Substitute b = 1.25 in eqn 1

2p + 3b = 7.25

2p + 3(1.25) = 7.25

2p + 3.75 = 7.25

2p = 3.5

<h3>p = 1.75</h3>

<em><u>Thus the solution is:</u></em>

price of 1 slice of pizza  = $ 1.75

price of 1 bottle of water = $ 1.25
